Building One PA: Fighting for Our Communities

The Building One Pennsylvania Public Meeting will take place on
Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at the
Bright Side Baptist Church, 515 Hershey Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17603.
Doors open at 10:30 for registration.
Leaders from throughout the state will convene to present an agenda for change to state and federal policymakers that will stabilize and revitalize our communities.

Press Release: State Gold Training Standards


Thomas N. Micozzie, Mayor Upper Darby Township announces that Edward Mann Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioner has notified Upper Darby Township, that our combination fire department has reached the State Gold Training Standards.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Fire commissioner’s office has set Professional Qualification standards level for emergency responders.  These standards are set based on nationally recognized training accredited by the National Pro-Board. The Gold Standard represents 100 % staff certified.

The Upper Darby Township Fire Department consists of five volunteer fire companies serving the community as a combination fire department with 150 volunteers and 41 career firefighters.  I am proud that the men and women who serve our township as firefighters have trained to meet the 100 % criteria necessary to achieve t the Fire Commissioner highest for the Gold Certification.

Edward Mann the Pennsylvania Fire commissioner will award this Gold Certification to Mayor Micozzie and the Upper Darby Fire Department on Tuesday October 25, 2011 at 5:00 PM.  The ceremony including the application of the Gold seal to Township fire apparatus will take place at:
