Upper Darby Township is pleased to announce the third
National Night Out celebration.
On Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 5 PM to 8 PM join Township
representatives at Upper Darby High School to learn about ways to make your community
safer.
The introduction of National Night Out, “America’s Night Out
Against Crime,” began in 1984 as an effort to promote involvement in crime
prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie
and send a message to criminals letting them know that communities are
organized and fighting back.
National Night Out now involves over 37 million people and
15,000 communities from all fifty states, U.S. Territories, and military bases
worldwide.
This year, Upper Darby Mayor Tom Micozzie and CouncilmanNate Goodson will present to the police department a thank you card signed by
Township residents. There is also a “kid
zone” for children-centered activity and representatives from agencies will be available
to answer your questions.
This event is free and open to the public!
