Economic & Leadership Summit

The Multicultural Community Family Services (MCFS) will have their first annual Economic & Leadership Summit to be held from May 2, through May 5, 2012.  

The Economic and Leadership Summit will comprise of a series of workshops and seminars to be held during the 4-day event.  Summit Presenters, Panelists and Exhibitors will include representatives from local universities and trade schools, small business entrepreneurs, as well as leaders in the area of public policy, public safety, government, finance and budgeting.

The goals of the summit are to: (1) Engage participants in exploring the presenting challenges and opportunities of entrepreneurship; (2) Raise awareness about the important role entrepreneurs play in job creation; (3) Motivate participants to become current and future generations of entrepreneurs; and
(4) Empower participants in developing self-awareness and leadership capabilities necessary for being
 effective change agents in the areas of education, community safety, personal finance and entrepreneurship. 

The Multicultural Community Family Services is a not-for-profit social service organization. MCFS was founded in 2003 to provide advocacy, educational, job readiness, counseling and recreation support services for African immigrant and refugee children and families who were resettling in Philadelphia and Delaware Counties.

Today, MCFS provides educational, job readiness, behavioral health, home care, and community outreach services to more than 800 diverse residents of Delaware and Philadelphia Counties.
