Registration for FREE College Services for Delco HS Students

Registration for FREE Tutoring & SAT/ACT Prep Programs for
Delco HS Students Begins This Week
At The College Access Center-Widener University Campus

Parents and students from Delaware County are invited to register for a host of FREE after school College Preparatory programs  this week at the College Access Center located at 400 E. 21st Street ( on the corners of 21st Street and Providence Avenue) on campus of Widener University in Chester, PA..  Now entering its fourth year, the College Access Center has proven itself to be one of the most valuable places to go for information about college admissions, financial aid, scholarships, and learning how prepare for life after high school.

The College Access Center is the result of a unique partnership involving the Presidents of six local Colleges and Universities (Widener University, Swarthmore College, Delaware County Community College, Cheyney University, Neumann University, and Penn State University-Brandywine Campus).

This collaborative effort led to the creation of the Chester Higher Education Council, a nonprofit organization established to address the educational needs of county residents.  Their first major initiative was the College Access Center of Delaware County, located at 400 E. 21st Street, a building owned by Widener University.

The Center provides FREE College Preparatory services to high school students including a weekly SAT/ACT Class conducted by a Kaplan-Trained Facilitator, 1-on-1 Counseling, Homework Help, Tutoring, along with monthly workshops on admissions, financial aid, and scholarships.

Students interested in an ongoing and intensive pre-college experience can also sign up for the Center’s signature outreach initiative called the Road Map to College, which is a special program aimed at 9-12th graders who meet twice per week throughout the year to learn how “navigate” their way to college.  Participants also hear about careers from invited guests lecturers, take trips to colleges, and are provided regular mentorship from current college students.

To register your child for these FREE services, please call (610) 499-1391 as classes will fill up very fast.
